Merry May: come for the 3 ‘Fs’ at HWLTC

Chilly April is nearly over and we are fast approaching May. The French Open starts on 22 May so that should give you plenty of inspiration to come and play. Here’s what’s going on so pop these dates in your diary and come and support your club.

Saturday 7 May, 5.00pm – Play and Stay

Get fit and play some tennis at 5.00pm and stay for a bite to eat afterwards. If your partners, friends or other halves don’t play tennis then invite them to the social afterwards. The bar, as usual, will be open so come down for some scoff and banter.  

Saturday 14 May, 7.30pm – Quiz Night By M and M

No, not ‘the’ Eminem but even better, Mark and Mark.  Come and exercise those little grey cells at the Club. There is space for 10 teams of 4 people so if you are interested in coming along then please let Mark know at [email protected]. The likely cost for the quiz will be £6 per person, payable on the night, and a light buffet will be supplied mid way through the quiz. Such a bargain for a great night out. Prizes will be available and the bar will be open for a few ‘looseners’ before you really get competitive.

Saturday 29 May, 2.30pm – American Tournament (followed by Tea at 5.00pm)
The last American Tournament was extremely successful and well attended at Easter and I’m sure this one will be no exception. Don’t forget your score from the last tournament will be added to the results of this tournament.  The final tournament on Sunday 28th of August is when the overall winner will be announced and a trophy to be presented at the Dinner and Dance.  So don’t miss out on your chance to win.  The bar will be open to quench your thirst afterwards followed by an irresistible tea of homemade sandwiches and yummy cakes provided by Jo and Tina.  It doesn’t matter because you will have earned it!

So no more scratching your head about what you’re going to do in May.  It’s all organised and we’ve made life so easy for you – all you have to do is turn up, simples!
