Thanks to everyone who came along to Race Night on Saturday 12 May. There was a great atmosphere and it was good to see so many people! A big thank you to Michelle, Darren and Debbie for organising, setting up and to Darren for being compère for the night.
The Easter weekend was full of social and community, with fun activities and tasty food on Good Friday and Easter Sunday (and the usual Saturday social in between, of course).
Now that the snow has gone, our thoughts turn to the Easter period and the traditional start of the new tennis season so here are the details of what will be going on at the club over that weekend.
Snow has been disrupting our tennis this week - take a look at Roy's photo for proof! Snow is the only weather condition that prevents play on our courts, and ice can damage the surface. Read about how it (and you) can be protected.
On Saturday 3 February we had another fun celebration at Northwood Golf Club, with trophies, raffle prizes, great food and dancing at our 2018 Dinner Dance.
We have our Autumn Mixed tournament winners! Congratulations to Simon and Aisling who won 10-8 against Steve James and Ryan after being 40-0 down at 8-8.
There are just 3 weeks until our Dinner Dance! If you're a full, intermediate, 5-day or parent member (over 15!), we would love for you to come and join the celebrations at Northwood Golf Club on Saturday 3 February, 6.30pm. Come and cheer on our champions as they collect their trophies, and have a fun and funky time with your Harrow Weald friends.
Our Christmas decorations are up, and frankly they're prettier than a perfectly cooked and well-lit Christmas pudding. Thanks to everyone that helped on Wednesday night!
It's our Christmas party on Saturday 16 December (7pm start), and if it's not in your diary already, it's time to do so! There'll be food, games, a raffle and plenty of Christmas carols for all to enjoy - and obviously the bar will be open throughout the evening.
We had a fantastic Wine and Cheese Night on Saturday 11 November, themed around Remembrance Day. There were some tasty wines from Waitrose and scrumptious cheese, chutney and biscuits from Borough Market (Neal's Yard and Le Marche de Quartier).
Our Mixed Drawn tournament took place on Sunday 15 October. Six pairs were drawn and it was all to play for on the day. In the end, it was the experienced partnership of Tom Lockie and Steph Cochrane that took the title, beating Boris and Rosita 6–3 in the final .
