Join the fun at Harrow Weald Lawn Tennis Club on Sunday 9 July, 2-5pm! On the middle Sunday of Wimbledon, you can play tennis for free, meet the coaches, beat the ball machine, try mini tennis and/or cardio tennis, find out about socials, enjoy tea and cake, and perhaps a drink at the bar.
And if you've been to one of our open days or just to visit the Club before, you'll want to come again to see the improvements made to our grounds over the last year, including brand new clubhouse flooring and outside decking.
Contact the Club to find out more, or just turn up on the day!
Bring on the summer tennis season – we’ve prepped the grounds, the team matches are arranged and we’re ready to get started! In our latest newsletter, you’ll be able to find out more about improvements in the Club, team matches, HWLTC and coaching opportunities, and social dates. Read all about it in our Spring 2017 newsletter online.
We've got a couple of great Easter activities for members lined up over the Easter weekend, including a chance to be part of our tennis community by helping to get the grounds ready for the summer tennis season, and some friendly competition in the first of our American tournaments of the year.
The next Forum will be held in the clubhouse on Tuesday 25 April from 7.30pm. HWLTC Forums give members the opportunity to discuss things about the club within a small group, including: what you like about the club, what you think needs to change and any good ideas you may have.
We can't wait to celebrate our 2016 achievements with our members and friends at our annual Dinner Dance this Saturday, hosted at Northwood Golf Club! Thanks to everyone who has bought their tickets, and got their food orders and payments in. All that's left is to choose your outfit and put on your dancing shoes!
As we - members and guests of HWLTC - approach our Dinner Dance on 4 February, a celebration of the remarkable events held throughout the year, we're looking back to some top moments of 2016! And up there with some of the best is our Street Party, held in June, celebrating the Queen's 90th Birthday.
Members enjoyed Play and Stay on the first Saturday of the December month - a very cold night! All four courts were in use, with thanks to Steve's excellent organisation of the peg board. A tasty supper was enjoyed by all accompanied with a few drinks while we decorated the club house with new Christmas decorations.
On Sunday 27 November, we held a challenge match of juniors vs adults. The Juniors edged the seniors 63-57 games in a nailbiting night of tennis, followed by a well-deserved pizza banquet. A great night had by all!
Congrats to our Men's and Ladies' Drawn winners and runners-up on Sunday 23 October! Kevin Taylor and Tom Daley beat Steve Dolden and Stuart McTiernan 6-3 in the final. Fran Severn and Margaret Boyer beat Rosita Herath and Steph Cochrane in the final, 5-2. Trophies all round!
In our Drawn Mixed tournament, one of the last tournaments of the year, Steve Dolden and Margaret Boyer performed a tennis masterclass, winning all six matches before beating Paul McClure and Rosita Herath in the final.
