A beautiful morning on Sunday 27 August set the scene for the final American tournament of the Season. Going into it, Margaret led the Ladies' competition by one point over Reena, and Steve led the Men's competition by one point over Kevin - all to play for for the American Tournament Cup!
Our Men's Singles finalists have been itching to finish their Final after ending it on 6-4 before the rain got too unbearable to play in on Finals Day, and on Saturday 12 August, they finally got the chance to do so. Congratulations to Henry on becoming Men's Singles champion, claiming his first Harrow Weald title in style by coming back from one set down to beat Simon 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.
Simon and Danny are our new Men's Doubles champions, beating Lewis and Kevin in a final full of volley rallies, crosscourt winners and smashes. The final result was 7-5, 6-7, 10-3 - the final chapter ending in a championship tiebreak, as agreed by all participants, as the lights were soon to fade.
The rain held out on Thursday night for our Mixed Doubles Final and we bear news of our Mixed Doubles champions: congratulations to Kevin and Julia who beat Boris and Steph 6-3 6-2!
Thanks to all that came to our Finals Day on Saturday 22 July, bearing sandwiches, cakes and cheer! Unfortunately there was little tennis due to the rain, for the first time in many many years, and the majority of finals have been rearranged - but we did have some tasty food.
On Sunday 16 July, the day Roger Federer claimed his historic eighth Wimbledon, some of our juniors took to the court to compete in finals of their own - and what a great day it was! Take a look at some of our pictures...

Join the fun at Harrow Weald Lawn Tennis Club on Sunday 9 July, 2-5pm! On the middle Sunday of Wimbledon, you can play tennis for free, meet the coaches, beat the ball machine, try mini tennis and/or cardio tennis, find out about socials, enjoy tea and cake, and perhaps a drink at the bar.
And if you've been to one of our open days or just to visit the Club before, you'll want to come again to see the improvements made to our grounds over the last year, including brand new clubhouse flooring and outside decking.
