At the very successful party, Amy Flood
gave this speech after the presentation
of the trophies.

There are two people who do a lot for this club and have helped it grow from strength to strength.  Darren and Roy are the two head coaches there and have been helping Harrow Weald for many years.

Darren is a magician, well he says he is.  He works hard and is a great coach.  Darren is always cracking jokes and that’s what makes his lessons so enjoyable.  OOPS!. I mean he makes us work really hard and there is no fun.

Apart from Eastbourne where all the fun begins.  Darren has been taking Harrow Weald Juniors to Eastbourne for the last five years and what successful years they have been.  And as they say behind every man is a great woman and this is Debbie.  During Eastbourne week Debbie makes sure that we all keep in order including the adults and is our adopted mother for a week making sure that we are all fed and watered.  Thank you Debbie.

Roy every Saturday rain or shine you turn up without fail.  Your dedication and patience with little ones has not gone un-noticed and it is an enjoyable morning for us all.  Your continued support and coaching at every level is clearly contributing to the progression of the Juniors.  If nothing else we will be able to volley like Sampras by next year.

During the year the Juniors take part in leagues which are run by Sarah Munn and without her time and effort our U14 Girls and Boys would not have gone up a division.  Along with Sarah and other parents who also support the Juniors by taking part by driving to other venues and/or providing teas we are extremely grateful.  We thank you.

Merry Christmas everyone

and

See you all in the New Year.

..ooOoo..

This year has been our most successful year at Harrow Weald, with our junior programme growing all the time.
The winter junior teams won 2 divisions in the Middlesex leagues last year, so well done to them!
Our summer camps were restricted this year due to new courts being laid but we had over 50 children attending the first week and over 20 children attending the second week at an alternative venue.
We continue to work with Harrow Council in all the schools which has been rewarded by children from the schools now attending our junior programme.
Our Junior Academy has been really good this year with every child improving their rating and playing regular tournaments throughout the year.  Our performance players are now playing in the men's and ladies' teams and the floodlit winter leagues, and are future club champions in the making.  Well done to Amy Flood for winning the adult Autumn Drawn Mixed tournament last year.
A big well done to Georgia Cotsford for winning her 4th Ladies Singles title, and still only 18 years old!  Also well done to Ella Cotsford for reaching her first Ladies Singles final.
Thanks to everyone who attended the Junior Christmas party.

It was a great success with over 80 children and their parents attending.  Everyone brought food and a good time was had by all.  Roy and Darren presented trophies for the player of the year in each group.  The winners were:

Red group
Millie Taylor

Orange group          Toby Deal

Green group            Luke Brophy

Intermediate/
Teen group               Niamh O'Connell

Junior Academy      Harry Grinter

Senior Academy     Ella Cotsford

The trophy for the overall winner was presented to the person that we felt had worked very hard and had made significant improvement.  This went to Lauren Jacobs.
Well done to all the junior club championship winners and players who entered the tournaments.
Finally, a very big thank you to Mrs. Sarah Munn, our Junior Coordinator, who works tirelessly throughout the year for the junior teams.
Roy and Darren.
